Reedy River Clean Up

Over the past hundred years Greenville South Carolina's identity and development has been shaped by the Reedy River that flows right through it. Urban growth, however, has not always been kind to the city's beloved river. In 1993 pollution became so unbearable that Friends of the Reedy River was founded to solve this environmental crisis.

Over two decades later, FoRR has accomplished much in the way of advocacy, education, and action. Twice a year Friends of the Reedy River gathers volunteers to clean the river from trash, flood debris, and anything else that shouldn't belong in a healthy river. Besides cleaning up the environment, this event is a great avenue to connect with like-minded people in the community while protecting and rehabilitating the Reedy River and surrounding area.
